2008 Cystic Fibrosis Charity Tournament
Concord Sand Volleyball is pleased to host our 2nd Annual Cystic Fibrosis Charity Tournament on May 31st, 2008. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Gateway Chapter of St. Louis.
Tournament format will be coed 6's (any combination of 6 players with at least 2 girls and no more than 3 guys) in two divisions: High Recreational & Low Recreational. Fee is only $30/person. Tournament fee includes a minimum of 8 games of volleyball, T-shirts, food and drink (beer & soda). The top teams in each division will advance to the playoffs. Prizes will be award to the winning teams. Spectators are welcomed to eat, drink and watch for $25/person. Tournament will begin at 10:00am, with check-ins starting at 9:30am.
We will have a silent auction along with various drawings. We will be accepting donations for food, drink or the silent auction from now until May 25th. Any group or company donating a sizeable amount will be mentioned on our website throughout 2008. We are also looking for volunteers to help with registration, refs and cleanup along with food and drink distribution.
